ECOVEGETAL used the semi-intensive SAXATILIS ® system (1) to green the 1000 m2 roof of block 4B of Euronantes. SAXATILIS ® is a semi-intensive, low-thickness roof greening solution composed of sedums, covering perennials (sedums, cerastium tomentosa, etc.) and alpine perennials known as bouquets (Allium schoenoprasum, Dianthus deltoide, Festuca glauca, Achillea tomentosa , etc.).
Revegetation is available by planting pots or pre-cultivated mats. Here the endemic plant palette was delivered in pots and fragments.
The SAXATILIS system is made up of a DK20 drain allowing the storage of approximately 7 liters of water per m2. The SAXALIS 1.1 substrate is specially designed for good plant development. To this end, the SAXATILIS ® system perfectly addresses weight and minimum maintenance issues.
This green roof project brings a little nature into an urban environment like the city of Nantes. Greening roofs helps combat heat islands and promotes rainwater retention.
(1) The semi-intensive system makes it possible to create a green roof without the weight constraints of a traditional garden terrace. The components of the greening system are specially chosen to accommodate a diverse plant palette while promising a light complex.
