Blanchon Group announces the acquisition of Bigler Lacke und Leime, a Swiss family business specializing in the development and manufacture of wood care products for Swiss professional customers. This acquisition is part of the Blanchon Group's strategy to accelerate its international growth and become a European leader in the protection, maintenance, renovation and decoration of interior and exterior wooden surfaces.
With a very strong product quality and a very recognized brand, BIGLER has become the market leader in the parquet segment in Switzerland and the reference brand for professionals. In addition, BIGLER is proud to sell KIESEL brand products - adhesives and primers - to parquet professionals in Switzerland, a company with which a strategic and long-term partnership has been established for more than twenty years. BIGLER operates from Lyss, Switzerland, and this site will be added to the European subsidiaries of Blanchon, in order to accelerate the growth of the group's international activities. The former owners and managers of BIGLER will remain fully involved in the company and will assume overall responsibility for Switzerland.
Guillaume Clément, Chairman of the Blanchon group declared: “We are very happy to welcome the talented BIGLER team to the Blanchon Group. This acquisition is an excellent complement to the recent acquisitions of DEBAL Coatings in Belgium and RIGO in the Netherlands. It positions the Blanchon Group with a unique value and product offering in Europe. BIGLER has family roots like Blanchon and a deep entrepreneurial spirit forged by three generations since 1934. The product quality and reputation of the BIGLER brand is unmatched in Switzerland and its products are highly complementary to Blanchon's product portfolio."
Adrian Bigler, Co-owner of BIGLER and representing the third generation of the company adds: "We are very happy to join the Blanchon Group because we share the same ambition and the same values. We are now able to extend our services and our offer throughout Switzerland".
Martin Bigler, President of BIGLER indicates: “The transaction will ensure the future of the BIGLER brand and products by taking advantage of the incredible R&D capacity of the Blanchon Group. I took over the BIGLER company from my father who created it in 1934 and I am very happy to become a member of the Blanchon family. This is a very promising chapter that opens for our customers and for our family".
