On the facade, a permanent play of shapes that change with the day depending on the sun; indoors, priority given to transparency and natural light… The control of visual and thermal comfort was also essential for this building which hosts the Headquarters of the Metropolis of Greater Paris.
A technical need and a demand for perfect integration in facades where only Mermet, leader in the design of fabrics for sun protection, could respond with Satiné 5500 fabric.
Light sharing
In turn dull, satin, sparkling, or evanescent, this building of 8.700 m2 of offices and 600 m2 of shops on the ground floor favors a window-blind system which alternates full lighters and shooting windows on each of the 7 floors, in order to optimize access to natural light and allow all offices to benefit from direct light.
This principle offers a great advantage in terms of autonomy in daylight and thus guarantees low energy consumption. All facade frames open during the day, allowing natural ventilation for offices. In addition, all facades exposed to solar radiation are fitted with external roller blinds, connected to the Thermal Management of the Building (GTB).
“The covering by a mantilla of white enameled aluminum tubes, which plays a complementary role in terms of sun protection, generates a virtual volume undulating like a metal cloud and gives off depth and cast shadows. In the end, a moire, a Gauss effect whose perception changes while walking.
To keep all the strength of this very present facade, we did not want to add other graphic elements: a perfect integration of the blinds was essential.
We had originally thought of a shades of color but chose a gray color (reference 0101) for its discretion and neutrality. " Jean-Pierre Lévêque - Associate Director of Brenac-Gonzalez 866 vertical roller blinds Solozip® by Griesser (1,80 x 1,35 m), very wind resistant, were thus installed on the 4 facades.
By preventing heat from entering the building in summer, the Satiné 5500 fabric protects work spaces and offers optimal sun protection.
Satiné 5500, the Mermet range for all architectures
Completely meeting the need for thermal and visual comfort, the Satiné 5500 fabric was selected for:
- its excellent protection against heat: up to 96% of the solar energy rejected in external application (gtot of 0,04 with a glazing of reference g = 0,32 and U = 1,1)
- its very good glare control thanks to its diagonal satin weaving while optimizing the supply of natural light: up to 96% of the light rays are filtered (Tv: 4%)
- its high quality transparency to maintain a perfect view to the outside
- cost reduction: 6 widths to optimize the use of fabric and reduce fall rates.
In addition to presenting the widest range of the market with its 50 colors which is available up to 320 cm wide to equip large bays without connection, the many performances of the Satiné 5500 fabric made all the difference. It is also distinguished by:
- excellent dimensional stability for large vertical blinds and perfect suitability in a ZIP application which gives it ideal tension for a perfect finish,
- remarkable durability with the mechanical endurance test of 10.000 cycles (class 3 NF EN 13561) and good mechanical resistance for tensioning,
- its M1 fire classification which meets the requirements of establishments open to the public.
Inscribed in energy excellence and environmental performance, the Be Open building had to benefit from quality sun protection. Mermet's Satiné 5500 fabric gives it the means and the French company once again proves its efficiency and know-how in this area!
