A real living space in the heart of the 3rd Ile-de-France tertiary pole of Plaine Saint-Denis, just a few minutes from the center of Paris thanks to a strategic road and rail service, this building now highlights the evocative image of a sequoia.
STUDIOS was commissioned to renovate the building, and give it strong visibility in order to allow its future tenant (s) to benefit from a strategic address in a context conducive to development.
The challenge for STUDIOS was to make the building stand out without altering its facade: the square was covered with a paving of blue stone from Hainaut, anchoring the building in a mineral context, and extending into wooded green spaces inspired by the gardens at the English. A new portico replaces the awning, playing on a deconstruction of the initial geometry of the building and its surroundings.
An entrance that invites
The existing awning has been replaced by a more ethereal and flamboyant entrance, made up of a multifaceted volume in Red Cedar wood cladding. Its asymmetry, color and singular appearance, contrasting with the facade, give the building a distinctive identity. At nightfall, LED strips integrated into the corners of the panels enhance its visibility. The volume of the entrance fits voluntarily into the building. The exterior and interior spaces, thus linked, naturally welcome and guide the visitor to the reception hall bathed in light, overlooked by a central atrium.
Finishes up to the challenge
Once the threshold is crossed, the visitor's gaze is drawn to the ground, inspired by a stump of redwood.
The growth rings were made of steel tubes, shaped and modeled individually, then inserted on a background of fine colored marble granite.
The coating, as well as the new signage, reflect the choice of the interior decoration of all the noble parts, thus contributing to the feeling of unity and conviviality. The lobby, the heart of the building, has been completely upgraded and serves the meeting rooms, offices, the restaurant and a space that can be completely modified according to user needs: auditorium, showroom, coworking space, etc.
A symbol more than a staircase
On the upper floors, the office floors, organized around two elevator landings, have been optimized and provide access to 230 m² of terraces. The breakability of the building was a determining point in the renovation in order to be able to meet the needs of one or more users.
