SimonsVoss equips the Catholic Institute of Paris (ICP)

The size of this establishment implies many accesses for all students, stakeholders and especially employees. The ICP then lists thousands of keys for the entire university campus and has since observed numerous concerns with key management and therefore with the security of the establishment. As digital transformation is part of its overall strategic plan, the establishment has decided to rely on new technologies to better control access on its campuses.

The electronic lock: a necessity to secure goods and people

Gradually, as the renovation work on the campuses took shape, the ICP took the opportunity to adopt and install the SimonsVoss online network access control solution at its establishments in Paris and Reims. The management has chosen to equip itself with three types of closures that can be controlled remotely thanks to the antennas integrated into the building. With the SmartRelais wall readers, the SmartHandle 3062 electronic locks and the 3061 locking cylinders, the ICP simplifies the management of its accesses and further secures its premises. The SmartRelais closures cover the elevators where certain floors are reserved for administrative staff and therefore prohibited to students, but also the 74th floor of the establishment where the seminarians reside who must have access 24 hours a day. On the other hand, and this in the purpose of granting access by card swipe or by time slots in classrooms, the SmartHandle handle plate proved to be the appropriate closure. Finally, to complete this diagram and reconcile mechanics and electronics, the ICP opted for the intelligent locking cylinder 24 on the exterior parts. Each of these closures then plays a precise and complete role in the 3061° management of access to their premises.

Simplified and centralized management

The installation of SimonsVoss solutions on the Paris and Reims campuses was carried out by M4S, a family business specializing in security systems since 1984 and a certified distributor through the SimonsVoss KeylessWorld Partner Program. Access management is centralized from the office of Mr. Christian Doyen, the ICP building access manager. He can now manage access in real time and remotely to the people concerned from his computer and his office in Paris.
