After signing an exclusive collaboration agreement for the promotion and construction of electrically recharged roads in Germany, France and Belgium, Eurovia (a subsidiary of VINCI) and ElectReon, announce the completion of a first project launched by the supplier of German energies EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG in Karlsruhe.
The issue of recharging energy is essential for the development of electromobility. ElectReon's inductive charging technology integrated directly into the roadway will allow contactless charging both when the vehicle is stationary and while driving.
This project is a first in Germany. It aims to equip initially, at the beginning of 2021, the roads of the EnBW training center over a total length of 100 meters (90 meters of dynamic load / 10 meters of static load). In a second step, 600 meters of public road connecting the training center to the city of Karlsruhe will be built. The Karlsruhe public transport company intends to use this system to charge its buses.
The partnership between Eurovia and ElectReon makes it possible to offer complete induction road solutions: Eurovia promotes the ElectReon solution by integrating it into its “product” offer and takes care of the design, construction and maintenance of charging platforms. ElectReon provides the charging technology, including installation, operation and maintenance. The project also involves VIA IMC (a subsidiary of Eurovia and VINCI Highways) for the design of the project with ElectReon and Omexom (VINCI Energies) for the electrical connections.
This project follows on from a previous collaboration in the context of prototypes in Sweden and Germany where Omexom had also participated.
