The smart home maker's products are used in more than 3 million homes. By far the most successful product line is that of Homematic IP.
Through intelligent automation, smart products can help consumers significantly reduce their energy demand without having to compromise comfort or make significant investments. This positive aspect of home automation was of particular importance in 2022, due to the drastic increase in energy prices and the partly uncertain situation in the supply of electricity and gas. Interest in intelligent heating solutions has therefore increased considerably.
The independent Swedish market research institute Berg Institute has examined the development of the smart home market in detail for the latest edition of its Smart Home and Home Automation study. The result: For the ninth consecutive year, eQ-3 has secured the top spot as Europe's largest whole-home systems provider. The Homematic IP smart home system is primarily responsible for this success. Together with the Homematic system that preceded it, eQ-3 has brought over 50 million devices to market to date.
eQ-3 can thus refer to another successful year with important milestones: the expansion of the Homematic IP portfolio with smart products such as the Homematic IP keypad and the further development of the Homematic IP mobile application such as the Philips Hue integration. In addition, Homematic IP was once again able to convince in IT security tests by VDE and AV-Test as one of the most reliable smart home systems.
“With Homematic IP, we have been pursuing from the start the goal of bringing the practicality of the smart home to every home through simplicity and flexibility. At the same time, we attach great importance to the security and privacy of our customers. The success that has been proven once again by Berg Insight, confirms that we are on the right track,” comments Professor Heinz-G. Reeker, Founder and CEO of eQ-3 AG regarding the study results.
