Manufactured not far away, in Ottmarscheim (near Mulhouse), the simultaneous use of two Siniat systems, Weather Defense and Defentex, constituted a very qualitative response for this project.
Energy demand is rationalized thanks to the installation of very high efficiency equipment making it possible to control consumption and achieve the highest level (E4) of the E+C label.
The building envelope
For the building envelope, the architect favored the use of local biosourced or geosourced materials such as wood, straw and raw earth, or even materials with a reduced carbon footprint promoting local know-how.
The company ALD Bois, expert in wooden construction in the Jura for more than 20 years, designs, develops, manufactures, installs and secures all types of wooden frame constructions.
To manufacture the wooden frame facades of the Collège de Montbéliard-Nord Bethoncourt, representing 95% of the exterior walls, ADL Bois was looking for a solution produced locally, respectful of the environment, healthy and sustainable, and responding to the problem of water management. humidity on a construction site exposed to bad weather. ALD Bois therefore selected two Siniat systems: Weather Defense for the exterior walls and Defentex for the interior.
Locally produced
Manufactured not far away, in Ottmarscheim (near Mulhouse), the simultaneous use of Weather Defense and Defentex constituted a very qualitative response for this project:
- the rigid rain shield function of Weather Defense and Defentex guarantees high resistance to climatic conditions (heat, cold, frost, rain, wind, etc.) for several months,
- Weather Defense's fire resistance allows wall protection during the construction phase and meets fire regulations for ERPs,
- the breathability of walls made with Weather Defense and Defentex, particularly when using biosourced insulating materials, ensures self-regulation of hygrometry beneficial to the building.
The walls were assembled in the ALD Bois workshop from the beginning of 2023 and delivered ready to install on site.
In total, 10.000 m2 of Siniat products were used to manufacture the facades of the Collège de Montbéliard-Nord Bethoncourt: 6.000 m2 of Weather Defense panels and 4.000 m2 of Defentex panels.
The College will open its doors in September 2024.
