The formwork beam, preparatory to the construction by the construction company Freyssinet (Vinci group) of a slab to support a hotel and a youth hostel, had fallen during the handling phase before its installation on December 1, and loitered the tracks.
As the tracks were completely cleared on Friday morning, SNCF Réseau has undertaken to repair damaged railway installations, rails, sleepers, catenaries and safety installations. This work "will be carried out urgently over a period of 72 hours during a non-stop punch operation," SNCF said in a statement.
The company initially plans to "gradually" restore RER C traffic on Monday, Intercités and TER remaining rerouted at the Lyon and Bercy stations. Traffic will return to normal on all these lines on Tuesday, according to SNCF.
