This analytical work by independent experts from the field and the professional organizations concerned reveals that the government objectives set to adapt buildings to energy management will be more difficult to achieve in the tertiary sector than in the residential sector. Support for the sector, particularly in terms of communication and training, would be desirable.
Fields of study of the OICR barometer
This first edition of the Barometer focuses on the energy dimension of Smart Building by analyzing the Government's very ambitious objectives. It presents a detailed inventory of the deployment and the assistance available. OICR also explores emerging trends shaping the future of real estate.
The careful analysis of the data for the residential and tertiary sectors made it possible to select relevant and coherent indicators for this barometer which will be published every year. It thus provides tangible perspectives for sector players, investors and decision-makers.
The Government's measures aimed at decarbonizing buildings provide for a reasoned use of digital technology in accordance with the Tertiary decree, the BACS decree and the Thermostat decree. They legitimize connected and interoperable solutions making it possible to monitor and reduce energy consumption.
To remember: The 2024 barometer shows that the objectives of 100% equipment with functional control systems in new construction and renovation, set by the Government, will be difficult to achieve by 2027, particularly for the 280.000 medium-sized tertiary buildings (surface between 1.000 and 5.000m2).
On the residential side, the awareness fostered by communication efforts has triggered a dynamic of equipment with connected thermostats while in the tertiary sector, outside of major projects, expertise and motivation seem to be lacking.
The independent experts who carefully analyzed the studies and enabled the development of this barometer come from: AI Optimiz, BatiEtude, Equans, Gimelec, Idealys, Ignes, IMA Protect, Inffiniti, IXI Group, Kardham Digital, NT Conseil, Connecting Technology , Smart and Connective, Smart Building Alliance SBA, Smart Green Execution and Urmet.
