Only the representatives of the State voted FOR, a vote which switches with the casting vote of President Jean-Yves Caullet, thus dissociating himself from the college he represents, namely the Forest Communes.
The National Federation of Forestry Communes wonders if it is still possible to restore confidence and work in good understanding with such a result?
An unacceptable contract
This contract is disowned by all except the State. It is experienced as yet another provocation by the elected officials of the forestry municipalities who refuse to pay an additional contribution to the financing of the ONF: "We will not pay 30 million euros more to have less".
President Dominique Jarlier will quickly bring together the executive of the National Federation of Forestry Communes (FNCOFOR) to decide on the measures to be implemented.
Ongoing deliberations and support
Already, dozens of deliberations against this project continually arrive at FNCOFOR and are sent by the Commons to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture.
This collective approach also receives the support of many parliamentarians and national associations of elected officials.
Abandoned forests, elected officials despised
How can the State ask for more from the Forest Communes, degrade a public service with the elimination of nearly 500 ONF positions in the territories and want to act against climate change?
How can the State forget the constantly renewed commitment and solidarity of the Forest Communes in favor of the forest and timber economic sectors, especially during health crises and in a context of very strong global pressure on the wood resource? French?
These questions posed by the industry remain unanswered for the moment.
