This project, validated in May 2023 by the ArcelorMittal Group, will be one of Industeel's most important investments. Costing 52 million euros, this new extension of the steelworks will accommodate a Vertical Continuous Casting for thin slabs with a height of 35m.
The technical objectives of the project are mainly:
- Reduce the production mileage by avoiding an intermediate rolling phase
- At the same time reduce energy consumption and therefore CO2 emissions
- Reduce production times
