The first French marine geothermal power plant was created in 2015 in the heart of the Grand Port Maritime of Marseille. Named Thassalia, the plant is connected to an urban renewable energy distribution network making it possible to supply nearly 500.000 m² of buildings in the Euroméditerranéen district, labeled Ecocité in 2009, with renewable heating and cooling.
