The Villiers – Champigny – Bry station boasts a large, south-facing glass facade. Opposite this opening to natural light, a large, 24-meter-high fold houses La Grande Échappée, an art installation designed to transform the station into a vibrant, immersive universe inspired by the French New Wave.
These visual compositions, in which the artists stage themselves, present timeless and yet seemingly familiar imaginary moments of life.
These photographic scenes are integrated into the large vertical wall of the station known as "the golden fold" and create a fruitful dialogue with the architecture for a visual, poetic and narrative experience that reminds us of movie posters.
La Grande Echappée is a tribute to cinema in one of its production territories, an invitation to travel where each passage becomes a possible adventure and a moment of reverie.
This work resonates with Louis Daguerre, inventor of photography and emblematic figure of Bry-sur-Marne, as well as with the presence of the National Audiovisual Institute (INA), served by the station.
