Schlüter-Bekotec-EN-23-F-PS: Studded panel for crack-free cladding construction

Schlüter-BEKOTEC is the safe coating construction technique as a system for crack-free and functionally safe floating and heated screeds with ceramic, natural stone and other coating materials.

This system is based on the Schlüter-BEKOTEC-EN-23-F-PS studded panel, which is bonded directly to the substrate or to commercially available thermal and/or acoustic insulation. The special adhesive applied to the underside of the support panel ensures excellent adhesion to the substrate. The geometry of the BEKOTEC-EN-23-F-PS studded panel results in a minimum screed layer thickness of 31 mm between the studs and 8 mm above them. The stud spacing is such that the system's heating pipes, with diameters of 14 mm and 16 mm, can be clamped within a 75 mm grid to create a heated screed.

Underfloor heating is easy to adjust and can be used optimally with low supply temperatures, as only a relatively thin mass of screed (approximately 57 kg/m2 ≙ 28,5 l/m2 with an 8 mm overlap) needs to be heated or cooled.

The shrinkage that occurs during the screed's curing is reduced modularly within the studded panel. Therefore, stresses due to shrinkage deformation cannot affect the entire surface. Consequently, control joints and expansion joints are not required. As soon as the cement screed is passable, the Schlüter-DITRA uncoupling membrane (alternative: Schlüter-DITRA-DRAIN 4 or Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT) is installed (calcium sulfate screed ≤ 2 CM-%). Ceramic tiles or natural stone slabs are laid directly onto this screed using the thin-bed installation method. Expansion joints in the screed must be created with Schlüter-DILEX at the required distances.

Flooring materials that are not susceptible to cracking, such as parquet or carpet, are laid directly on the screed once the specific residual moisture for the flooring has been reached.
