Welcome to this new series, "Let's Reveal the Authentic," highlighting the facades renovated or restored by craftsmen. "The unique feature of this farmhouse is that we restored the stone vault; we completely shored up the facade, destroyed the brick lintel, and replaced it with a cut stone vault."
In this fourth episode, Caroline is once again in the Vosges with Arnaud Parisot, partner of Jérémy in the company Art Du Bâtiment, which specializes in the renovation of old buildings.
Arnaud presents the renovation of a Vosges farmhouse, a project that represents the bulk of their activity. It's a Vosges sandstone farmhouse with dressed stone for the window frames and quoins, and rubble masonry.
To renovate this farmhouse, they stripped the entire facade, then sandblasted the cut stones and the corner stones. The repointing was done with PAREXAL.
On the rear facade, a clean coating was applied using CHAUX PATRIMOINE.
On the gable, rebuilt with concrete blocks, a PAREXAL coating with a scraped finish was applied.
Finally, the unique feature of this farmhouse is the restoration of the stone vault. The facade was completely shored up, the brick lintel destroyed and replaced with a cut stone vault.
