In the 1950s, France embarked on major projects, notably the construction of large-scale dams such as Roselend, Serre Ponçon, and Tignes, to meet a rapidly growing demand for electricity. Thanks to exponential growth, the French equipped themselves with televisions, refrigerators, and all kinds of household appliances.
