For centuries, pure natural hydraulic lime has been manufactured in Saint-Astier, in the Dordogne, in the heart of the Périgord Blanc.
It all began in 1850 with the scientific characterization of this unique limestone, marking the start of a pre-industrial era for many lime kilns. Throughout this period, the Saint-Astier® company has remained family-owned and independent, still producing 100% of its lime locally. Four generations, supported by professional teams, have succeeded one another, each innovating and contributing to making Saint-Astier® an international brand, known and respected by its peers in the world of heritage restoration.
