Description See +Hide
SikaCem®-50 Plant Fiber is a 100% plant-based, bio-sourced natural fiber for mortars, concrete, screeds and coatings. This bio-sourced cellulose microfiber, from sustainably managed European forests, generates an even denser network of fibers for better resistance to early cracking.
Made in Europe, this fiber is an eco-responsible alternative to the polymer microfibers used on the market. Of natural origin, it is obtained from wood from sustainably managed European forests. It thus contributes to the manufacture of more virtuous and more easily recyclable concrete, in particular through the absence of plastic in concrete returns and in retention tanks.
SikaCem®-50 Plant fiber therefore constitutes an alternative to the use of material from the petroleum or metallurgical industry. Concretes made with these fibers are also more easily recyclable, after washing the concreting tools or at the end of the life of the works they were used to create.
Thanks to their extreme fineness, SikaCem®-50 Plant Fiber fibers are one of the most efficient fibers on the market. In fact, a low dose makes it possible to create a very high density fiber network, for better limitation of crazing and cracking due to plastic shrinkage at a young age. Tests showed a 68% reduction in overall cracking compared to a non-fibered control.
This new high-performance, eco-responsible and easy-to-use fiber democratizes and completes the range of sustainable development products developed by Sika. Its packaging, in packs of 6 and 12 doses, has been designed to simplify dosing and quantity control for the user.
Sensitive to its environmental impact, Sika has, for several years now, been developing products with environmental benefits for the entire value chain (formulation, supply, manufacturing, recycling.
