Saturator dedicated to exotic species for terraces, cladding in ipe, teak, padouk ... for the timeless beauty of the exotic, what care for these woods like no other ...? The secret: permeate, penetrate, protect.
The answer: saturate to last!
Exotic woods, or hardwoods in general, convey the idea that they will last forever as they are hard and therefore resistant… But like all other species, without protection they will intoxicate, tarnish, stain, deform and sometimes even crack.
To prevent them from losing this beautiful aspect that makes them unique, it is imperative to protect them and, if necessary, renovate them to restore their original appearance.
For exotic or hard woods, the best solution is to saturate them if you really want to protect them durably.
Why saturate?
With their very fine or closed pores, these dense woods do not allow products to penetrate. You therefore need a product with excellent penetration qualities to counter this density. However, the function of the saturator is to saturate the support, that is to say to impregnate it until it can no longer absorb product. Once filled with product, the support is perfectly protected. And among the wood protection solutions, only the saturators permeate and penetrate perfectly, the stains remain on the surface and are film-forming and the oils will often foul and therefore darken the wood under the effect of UV.
The strength of the D.1 Pro
The D.1 Pro has marine qualities that make all the difference. It was designed for the decks of boats in the extreme climates of Scandinavia to allow them to resist all the violent aggressions of these latitudes: winds, sun, salt, rain, snow. Its unparalleled resistance naturally led it to reach the mainland where its exceptional impregnation qualities make it a saturator of choice.
Why?
- Thanks to its technical formulation which gives it an extreme fluidity, it enters the supports to protect them from the inside, by infiltrating everywhere. It brings to the heart of the wood all the active ingredients that will nourish the interior, the fibers of exotic wood. based on special resins and vegetable oils, the D.1 Pro intensely nourishes in depth…
- Inside and also outside: when entering the support, the D.1 does not leave a film on the surface and marries the wood perfectly to become one with it. It thus protects it durably from abrasion and attack.
The plus: ultra simple maintenance
A terrace protected with D.1 Pro can be cleaned in no time, since there are no fatty particles in the grain of the wood. In addition, the wood benefits from the “vaccine” effect of Owatrol® saturators and maintenance is ultra simple with a single pass. It can even be done by touch-up only at the places where it is needed.

Features SeeHide
D.1 is a saturator for exotic woods based on alkyd resins and natural oils.
- Suitable for dense, oily wood, difficult to impregnate
- Excellent media penetration
- Non film-forming. Must be in the wood and not on the surface of the wood
- Oiled finish
- Easy to use. Easy maintenance
- Exterior: garden furniture, terraces, gratings, boat decks, dead works on boats, gates…
- Exotic woods: Teak, Mahogany, Movingui, Ipe…
- Can be applied above or even below the waterline; leads to excellent insulation and the creation of a bonding base before conventional underwater treatment
- horizontal-vertical
General instructions
- The wood must be clean, dry (3 days of dry weather - maximum humidity of the wood 18%), healthy and prepared according to the rules of the art according to the standards in force - free of dust, mold, grease stains and all old coating
- If the wood has a significant surface glaze (which harms the penetration of the product) plan a preliminary preparation of the support (consult us)
New wood
Depending on the surface:
- Leave the wood to the weather for 6 months then clean with Net-Trol® * if necessary or Degrease the wood with Aquanett® * then neutralize with Net-Trol® *
- Iroko, Padouk, Azobé: see recommendations before application
Old, stained or blackened wood:
- Clean the support with NET-TROL® *
- Shell the wood if necessary
Gray wood already treated (oiled):
- De-oil with the AQUANETT® * + NET-TROL® * system
- Shell the wood if necessary (grain 100)
Wood previously stained or varnished:
- Pickle the wood with the DILUNETT® * + NET-TROL® * system and shell it if necessary
Application
- Do not dilute
- Apply a layer of D.1. at saturation
- Let the product penetrate 15-30 minutes
- Repeat the operation until the support is saturated (refusal of wood)
- Do not allow to dry between coats (apply “wet on wet”)
- Once the wood is well saturated, always brush or wipe off the excess product to avoid any trace of shine during drying.
Note: the oiled appearance of D.1. during application gradually disappears over the course of
following weeks and depending on sun exposure. When the wood takes on a light gray color, go to maintenance.
