Q-Bot robotics offers an innovative solution for the insulation of crawl spaces and technical spaces, non-habitable spaces often marked by insufficient ventilation and high humidity. Thanks to a specialized design, the Q-Bot robot now accesses spaces with a minimum height of 20 cm, making insulation possible in previously inaccessible places.
The robot, which is just 380mm wide, can manoeuvre through narrow passages and install underfloor insulation in tight spaces. This unique access capability is combined with enhanced vision, thanks to a front-facing camera with a wide field of view and integrated lights, providing a good understanding of the environment. A depth camera at the front provides feedback on the depth of insulation applied, ensuring effective coverage.
Adaptability to Difficult Conditions
To adapt to complex and difficult-to-access sections, the front camera is equipped with a pneumatic mechanism allowing it to move in height: it can extend to offer an optimal view of the environment or retract to navigate in restricted sections. In addition, the robot has been reinforced to operate in wet environments, ensuring increased durability and efficiency.
Insulation Efficiency and Choice of Materials
To address the moisture requirements often present in these spaces, the Q-Bot uses closed-cell foam insulation, which blocks moisture and optimizes thermal performance. Conversely, traditional methods of insulating these areas often use open-cell materials, which trap moisture and compromise energy efficiency.
