Northward Bound is Milliken's latest collection of carbon neutral carpet tiles, and the first European collection in its D / LUX series. The D / LUX series is named after its luxurious high performance tiles, which use less raw materials (thus reducing the carbon footprint), without compromising on aesthetics.
To do this, Milliken has carefully considered materials, innovated with fiber suppliers, and has been a pioneer in the use of yarns and tufting technologies. Doing more with less is in keeping with Milliken's philosophy of making an overall positive impact and following a strong ethical approach to social responsibility and sustainability.
The carpet tile collection breaks down into three designs: Snow, Glacier and Ice - inspired by a relaxed and understated Scandinavian aesthetic (a style that has inspired several Milliken collections in recent years). A warm and cool neutral color palette, different scales for the three patterns, minimalist patterns, and soft, flowing organic shapes help generate a sense of calm movement on the floor. Northward Bound was designed to be used alone or combined with classic Milliken collections, now bestsellers: this is the case with the Nordic Stories collection or, for more upscale spaces, the Arctic Survey collection.
