On a facade or a terrace, in wood or stone, water is the first enemy. On wood it will lead to the destruction of its surface and on stone it will encourage the appearance of parasitic organic matter.
UV rays cause the graying of wood, which is often acclaimed today for its vintage look. But gray wood not protected from water will be damaged very quickly.

- Water causes the wood to swell and then deflate when it evaporates. Under the effects of hygrometric variations, the wood wears out and delaminates, that is to say that it breaks up into small strips: the very structure of the wood is irreparably damaged.
- Water is also one of the driving forces for nourishing all the insects and fungi that attack and invade the wood.

- As with wood, water nourishes micro-organisms and causes the proliferation of mosses, lichens and other organic materials which pollute the surface of the stone.
- With the gel, the water inside the stone, causes it to burst and weakens its surface.

When you want to obtain or keep the gray appearance of wood from UV rays, you must absolutely protect the wood from water. The H4 WOOD & STONE particles penetrate into the support and bring hydrophobic active ingredients which will protect the wood at its core. Indeed loaded with hydrophobic particles, the wood is deprived of water, no longer cracks, no longer delaminates and can no longer "feed" molds. The wood can then age and quietly turn gray.

H4 WOOD & STONE penetrates even the most fragile stones (marble, tufa ...) and all porous mineral supports (cement, plaster, paving), to offer a repelling action of water and limit fouling as well as deposition of atmospheric pollution. The hydrophobic action also prevents the grip and the development of microorganisms which can invade the stone.
The most that makes the difference
More than just a water repellent, H4 WOOD & STONE does not contain silicone. In general, water-repellent products always incorporate silicones and deposit a film programmed to last several years. If you want to change the finish or protection, you must either wait or strip. Thanks to its composition, H4 WOOD & STONE leaves no film on the surface and does not contaminate wood or stone with silicones: it becomes easy to apply a new finish or to carry out maintenance.
Tip at home: indoors, added to 10% in a paint, H4 WOOD & STONE transmits its water-repellent qualities to the finish and provides resistance to the effects of water (ideal for a kitchen or bathroom ) and easier washability of the support.
