Gstarsoft, a global leader in design software, participated in the trade show with its French partner ASSE to present its integrated CAD/BIM solutions, its local adaptation capabilities, and its open ecosystem. Positioned on interoperability, lightweight deployment, and low-cost transition, Gstarsoft addresses European challenges with a GstarCAD + GstarBIM solution tailored to local workflows, integrating AI rendering, cloud collaboration, and RE2020 compliance. This participation marks a key step in its European expansion. It demonstrates that a seamless CAD/BIM transition is possible without disrupting processes or requiring expensive hardware, supporting SMEs in their digital transformation.
Batinfo: Can you introduce Gstarsoft and its evolution?
William Wang: Gstarsoft was originally founded in 1992 by five engineers from Tsinghua University. From the outset, the company developed AutoCAD-based applications, particularly for architecture and HVAC.
In 2001, we officially structured the company and began developing our own fully compatible CAD platform. Today, our solutions are available in 14 languages and used in approximately 175 countries, with over 1,5 million licenses sold. Our FastView DWG viewer has over 100 million users.
Since our IPO in 2023, we have accelerated our development, particularly in BIM with the acquisition of ARCHLine.XP, now integrated into our GstarBIM offering.
Batinfo: What is your strategy in Europe, and particularly in France?
William Wang: Europe is a strategic priority. The French market is particularly demanding: users are looking for high-performance, reliable solutions that are perfectly integrated into their workflows.
We work closely with our local partner to offer tailored solutions, with a strong emphasis on training, support and regulatory compliance, including GDPR.

Jérôme Fauconnet: In France, customers expect concrete business solutions and real support. We don't just distribute; we support users in developing their skills and optimizing their workflows.
Batinfo: How do you position yourself in relation to existing solutions?
William Wang: Our goal is not to replace existing tools, but to offer a reliable and flexible alternative. We emphasize interoperability and workflow continuity.
Jérôme Fauconnet: Gstarsoft is a complementary solution. For example, tools like Revit are very powerful but require significant investment. GstarBIM is quicker to learn and particularly well-suited to SMEs.
Batinfo: What role does the distribution network play?
William Wang: Our distributors are essential. They provide training, local support, and facilitate the gradual adoption of our solutions without disrupting existing practices.
Jérôme Fauconnet: We provide regular follow-up with clients, particularly after deployment, to optimize the use of the tools. This is a key differentiating factor.
Batinfo: How do you address regulatory and environmental issues?
William Wang: We integrate these requirements directly into our solutions. Our cloud tools ensure data continuity, reduce errors, and limit costs and carbon footprint.
We strictly comply with the GDPR, with data hosted in Europe, particularly in France and Hungary.
Batinfo: What is your vision of artificial intelligence?
William Wang: AI is a major driver of efficiency. We use it internally and are progressively integrating it into our solutions, particularly through intelligent assistants and automated rendering functions.
Jérôme Fauconnet: AI is an assistant, but humans remain at the heart of the process. It helps to analyze and automate certain tasks, but still requires human validation, especially for critical aspects.
Batinfo: How do you see the market evolving?
William Wang: The market is evolving towards integrated solutions combining CAD, BIM, and cloud computing. Our strength lies in addressing these diverse needs with a unified approach.
Jérôme Fauconnet: Digital modeling is becoming the norm. New generations are naturally adopting these tools, and companies are looking for solutions that are quick to deploy and reliable.
Batinfo: What are your main strengths today?
William Wang: We offer a balance between performance, cost, and flexibility. This is particularly relevant for SMEs, but also for large companies seeking integrated solutions. Gstarsoft's strength lies in its technological maturity and field effectiveness. These are operational tools, designed for quick and efficient use in real-world contexts.
