Interview with Grégoire Saint-Cast, Founder and CEO of IVA Drones

Grégoire Saint-Cast, founder and CEO, speaks with Batinfo about the challenges, innovation, and ease of implementation of this offering designed for players in the real estate, industrial, and design sectors.

Batinfo: Who is your solution aimed at and what problem does it address?

Grégoire Saint-Cast: Our solution is designed for real estate companies, manufacturers, asset managers, engineering firms, architects, interior designers—in short, anyone who manages assets or has existing structures to digitize. The problem is simple: they need reliable data and plans, sometimes on a large scale for the biggest companies. Today, Hunab Studio and IVA Drones finally offer a solution that covers the entire scope of a Scan to BIM project.

Batinfo: How do you address this issue and what makes your solution innovative?

Grégoire Saint-Cast: We have industrialized the entire Scan to BIM chain. Since 2018, IVA Drones has been capturing data across Europe using photogrammetry, LiDAR, and other technologies, employing standardized, industrialized, and highly scalable methodologies. Hunab Studio then transforms and leverages this data into usable BIM plans and models, accessible to all trades. Innovation, therefore, lies not only in the technology itself, but also in the ability to deliver quickly, efficiently, and on a large scale, using a standardized and scalable model applicable across the entire territory.

Batinfo: How can your solution be implemented?

Grégoire Saint-Cast: It's extremely simple. First, we define the scope with the client so they can then access their mission types or needs directly on the IVA Drones platform. Next, they can order these operations as needed, anywhere in the country, wherever they have projects. Then, on our end, this triggers an intervention by one of our technicians who will capture the data, whether by drone, LiDAR scan, or other method. We capture the data, verify it, send it to Hunab Studio, where a studio app processes it and then delivers it to the client in their preferred format: 2D plan, 3D plan, DWG, SketchUp, Revit—it doesn't matter. Everything is integrated into the rest of the value chain within our client's tools and workflows.
