The wood material: part of the solution to decarbonize construction

In France, the share of wood in construction (residential and non-residential sector) is close to 10% and should increase sharply in the coming years*. Used in construction for a long time, wood is now at the top of renewable and biosourced materials and its uses are diversifying. It thus enters into construction, rehabilitation, renovation and development. Wood represents major ecological, societal and environmental issues. Development of Greater Paris, sites linked to the Olympic Games, high-rise construction, individual houses... there is no shortage of outlets in both collective and individual construction, for the tertiary and residential sectors. The recent application of RE 2020 is also a market development factor for the coming years.

BATIMAT once again highlights wood construction and the entire upstream and downstream sector. A sector of 1 m521 is entirely dedicated to it in Pavilion 2 with nearly 1 exhibitors registered to date. • Wednesday, October 5 from 16 p.m. to 16:45 p.m. (Agora 1, Pavilion 1):

Wood & traceability as part of the Paris Games. In partnership with CODIFAB and France Bois Forêt

This conference will be moderated by Marie Jorio, Coordinator of the France Bois 2024 Project (project supporting wood in the Paris Games supported by CODIFAB and France Bois Forêt, accompanied by the CNDB) who will moderate in the presence of Georges-Henri Florentin, President of France Bois 2024, a round table composed of Jérôme Martinez, Manager of the Bois de France Label; Paul Emmanuel Huet, Executive Director PEFC France; Aurélien Sautière, Executive Director FSC France, Solidéo and Paris 2024.

• Thursday, October 6 from 16 p.m. to 16:45 p.m.:

Wood and biosourced to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. In partnership with CODIFAB and France Bois Forêt

This conference will deal in introduction with the RE2020, the positioning of the current buildings, the objectives of the future. A round table will then give the floor to two architectural firms who will come to testify during this session about their respective projects or achievements, including the firm A003 architect.

It will also be one of the key themes of the Bati-Journal TV set, organized by Éditions des Halles and BATIMAT and located at the heart of the wood sector, with the support of the national Interprofession France Bois Forêt. Wood will be discussed during four programs:
