Water containment fire extinguishing: TuboPROTECT by ViaCon France

Circular D9A: an essential guide for ICPE-classified companies

Circular D9A, published in July 2019, is a practical guide developed by the Ministry of the Interior, Ecological Transition, the French Insurance Federation, and the CNPP. It provides a method for sizing firefighting water retention volumes to limit the risk of pollution that may occur after a fire and to define the volumes of this retention. Several factors are taken into account for this calculation: volume of water required to extinguish the fire, rain, volume related to the storage of flammable or combustible liquids.

The guide applies to establishments where retention of polluted liquid effluents following a fire is required.
