Professionals, public organizations and individuals, all are concerned. Whether to avoid roads or bridges that retain heat, creating heat islands, or to restore comfort to interiors in summer and winter.
Insulation has become one of the keys in building to guarantee not only a healthy home but also to reduce energy consumption.
With this in mind, Durieu Groupe offers with the brand ThermaCote® and its insulating paint, a totally revolutionary solution which makes it possible in particular to significantly reduce the temperature of roofs and therefore the temperature inside homes, while offering the comfort of an interior which keeps heat in winter, particularly in solving humidity problems.
Isolation, where to start?
Analyse
Before carrying out any work in terms of insulation, you must start by analyzing your needs and therefore identifying the sensitive areas of each structure to be insulated. And to determine which part of the home is most exposed to attacks from heat or cold, it is necessary to calculate the roof/façade ratio which will make it possible to assess which part should be favored in terms of insulation.
This is how we can realize the benefit of insulating a facade from the outside rather than the roof.
Please note: at the level of...
... individual homes, industrial or logistics sites, commercial buildings (stores, shopping centers, public buildings, schools, etc.) or the top floor of a building: it is the roof part that is subject to “attacks” of temperature.
... residential buildings: it is the facades which take the majority of temperature variations.
Understand the danger of humidity and why use insulation paint rather than a classic ITE (*) material?
One of the difficulties in terms of insulation also concerns humidity. The latter is the number one enemy of insulation and comfort: it's like when it's cold, if we put on a dry sweater, we warm up, but if the sweater is damp, we feel even colder .
It's the same thing for a building, a damp wall will prevent the insulation from operating correctly and a classic ITE generally does not solve this problem.
Thermocote’s secret sauce
ThermaCote®, specially formulated to extract water vapor (humidity) from supports, provides dry walls, a comfortable environment and regulates humidity.
Sanitized and dried materials thus see their native performance reinforced.
THERMACOTE®
In details
A high concentration of dry extracts guaranteeing optimal effectiveness and long-term protection of all protected media.
A predominantly ceramic composition (80% of the paint) which provides the protected coating with all the insulating capabilities coupled with the resistance to high heat of ceramic.
A palette with 54 shades that meets the expectations of all situations with equivalent performance whatever the color (light or dark).
In action
A surface protected with ThermaCote® can lose more than 20° (going from 60° to 38°) during the hot period and overall an insulated home with ThermaCote® allows you to reduce energy consumption by up to 38% (in situ measurement, according to EU ISO 9869).
Thermal insulation : thanks to its specific formulation ThermaCote® acts as a survival blanket on the supports. It surrounds them with a protective layer which keeps the heat inside the building in cold periods, and which in hot periods allows part of the heat to be reflected outside the support, thus bringing the temperature felt on the support to decrease drastically:
Anti-humidity: ThermaCote® lets the support breathe, extracting moisture while preventing it from entering, thus limiting the formation of condensation and/or rust.
Air tightness: infiltration or leakage of air into the supports leads to the deterioration of the insulation and the application of ThermaCote® avoid this phenomenon.
The PLUS in the renovation phase
- Elimination of the effects of thermal bridges, possibility of carrying out thin layer insulation of the building without extra thickness of the facade, particularly in many old buildings which cannot accommodate a classic ITE (not the square, terraced house, PLU, etc.) or interior over-insulation (loss of surface area!).
- On the roofs, ThermaCote® allows you to work quickly and efficiently without dismantling the structure thanks to its lightness (~400g/m2) and its Airless application.
