AGC's Glass Configurator now also provides verified FDES sheets

Glass manufacturer AGC Glass Europe recently launched the verified FDES (Health and Environmental Declaration Sheets) generator, a powerful tool fully integrated into its Glass Configurator, designed to edit technical data sheets for glazing according to their composition.

This unique generator has been externally verified to ensure that the EPDs created are fully compliant with EN ISO 14025:2010 and NF EN 15804+A2:2019, as well as its national supplement NF EN 15804+A2/CN:2022, ensuring the quality and reliability of the underlying environmental assessments. The tool's scope has also been extended to AGC's Low-Carbon glass products. The EDP Generator thus covers the Standard and Low-Carbon versions of seven product families, making a total of 14 product families for which a reference EPD has been published in the INIES database, the French reference database for environmental and health data on construction products and equipment.

A complete picture of environmental performance

Le AGC Glass Configurator already offered a wide range of tools to architects and engineers to speed up and facilitate the design and selection process in order to configure the optimal glazing for each project. Today, the integrated EPD Generator allows them to go further by creating a specific EPD for the chosen configuration. The application calculates a large number of potential environmental impacts and provides a complete and detailed environmental assessment of the entire life cycle of the product concerned. The EPDs created by the tool include more than 30 environmental and resource indicators; they provide an enlightening analysis and contribute to compliance with the latest standards and regulations applicable to the sector.

A single integrated tool

The EPD Generator is a significant addition to the suite of tools available in AGC's Glass Configurator, which also includes the Glass Visualiser, Product Finder, Glass Thickness Calculator, and Acoustics Tool. The Glass Configurator's collection of tools enables clients and architects to make informed decisions, supporting their sustainability and design excellence goals, while preparing for the adoption of the digital product passport under the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR).
