New expanded polystyrene ball aggregates by Edilteco

One of the main advantages of EPS bead aggregates is their lightness. Compared to traditional materials used for the construction of floors, such as sand or gravel, EPS aggregates are much lighter, which makes it possible to reduce the load stresses on the structures.

EDILTECO® has developed 4 lightweight aggregate products with virgin expanded polystyrene beads of controlled particle size and coated with EIA adjuvant. Politerm® light aggregate (4-6 mm) for the formulation of screeds, mortars and concretes; Politerm® Fein lightweight aggregate (2-3 mm) for lightweight mortars and thermo-acoustic concrete; Polys Beto® insulating aggregate, (2-3 mm) ideal for developing various formulas for screeds, mortars and light concrete, for insulation or thermal and acoustic treatment, and Politerm® R, light aggregate (2-5 mm ), designed with recycled polystyrene for the production of screeds, mortars and lightweight thermo-acoustic concretes.

The 2-3 mm particle size of the aggregates making up the Politerm® Fein and Polys Beto® formulations is particularly ideal for making adherent or loose screeds, light insulating patching and under-screeds, level adjustments, slope shapes, etc. under Technical Assessments and Technical Application Documents.

The POLITERM® 200 and 300 formulas, the POLITERM® 1000 and 1200 and POLIFLUIDE® 1000 and 1200 screeds, as well as their fluid versions, are notably the only ones on the French market to hold a CSTB Technical Assessment for light filling and light screeds under DTA CSTB and comply with NF EN 13813.

Similarly, the Polys Béto® shape for waterproof roofs - process for shapes for flat roofs and pitched roofs – holds a CSTB Technical Approval for waterproofing support, for flat roofs and pitched roofs.

These aggregates fully meet the quality criteria sought by professionals in formulation, use and final usefulness. Mortars and lightweight concretes produced with lightweight aggregates are mortars whose densities can vary between 200 kg/m3 and 1.800 kg/m3, they are therefore lower than those of traditional concrete. It should be noted that these aggregates are easily implemented. For example, POLYS BÉTO® has a foamy consistency allowing a simple and effective application when leveling and making coating supports. It works easily and provides flat surfaces when simply drawn with a ruler. Thanks to their properties, POLITERM® formulas - from a density of 500 kg/m3 - can be covered with tiling after only 48 hours, without leveling.

Committed to a proactive circular and sustainable economy approach, EDILTECO® France is part of a CSR policy. It is in this spirit that the brand has developed a new aggregate, the Politerm® R, designed with recycled polystyrene, the EPS offcuts from the blocks and panels, during cutting, are recovered, finely ground, recalibrated and bagged for a 100% recycled end product. POLITERM® R is intended for the production of screeds, mortars and lightweight thermo-acoustic concretes. It thermally and acoustically insulates different types of existing supports in apartment buildings or individual houses.
