KP1 is expanding its basement offering with “BASIK” concrete pads. Safety, simplicity and speed of implementation are the key words of its innovative industrial system! Combining a hand-held pad and cover*, it allows individual house builders to save valuable time when building their basements, without compromising on safety of implementation.
Thanks to mechanical performances determined by tests carried out at CERIB, as well as the ingenious combination of “BASIK” pads and covers, the company can install the stringers immediately after the pads. It will then be able to safely carry out a 2 in 1 pouring of the concrete in the pads and at the stringer nodes. A team of three masons will thus save half a day of working time.
The “BASIC” plots are available in two heights of 35 and 45 cm (30 or 40 cm pad + 5 cm cover) and can be stacked to adapt to different terrains (slope that cannot be leveled, etc.). Its cover, available in 3 versions, allows the pad to be horizontally shuttered while passing the vertical reinforcement of the foundations. Two versions of the cover are available to address issues of shared walls and property boundaries.
An innovative response to clay soils
The ELAN law (Evolution of Housing, Development and Digital Technology - of October 1, 2020) establishes new obligations for individual houses built in areas exposed to the risk of shrinkage or swelling of clay soils. More than half of the territory is affected! This notably involves increasing the depth of the foundations to obtain quality soil and building on crawl spaces. The new “BASIK” pedestals meet these challenges. They are installed under the KP1 stringers, tailor-made and available within 7 working days.
The “BASIK” pedestals make it possible to raise the sills and therefore optimize their height. Their reduced prestressed section reduces the quantities of concrete and steel, and intrinsically the carbon impact. A solution that is economical, durable and of industrial quality.
Safety
The ready-to-install “BASIK” pedestal solutions make safety a priority during their implementation. The mechanical resistance (justified by a test campaign at CERIB) of the pedestals and their complementarity with the adapted covers allow the installation of the stringers, in complete safety, before filling the pedestals. The casting of the pedestals and stringer nodes can then be carried out in one go.
*Weight of the 30 cm high block = 50 kg and of a 40 cm high block = 66 kg, and weight of the hood between 17 and 20 kg.
