Located on the outskirts of Valle de Bravo, the Clubhouse has been carefully designed to enhance its surroundings and its 360° view of the adjacent lake and nearby mountains.
Le clubhouse pavilion is the result of a collaboration between the Mexican architecture studio Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos and developers Grupo Terraforma. Located just two hours from Mexico City, the Valle San Nicolás lodge is ideally positioned to offer a true escape into nature, which emphasizes wellness and maintains a sustainable approach.
Dressed in wood Kebony, this durable structure offers a superb experience of well-being, enhanced by an intimate connection with nature. It embodies a meeting of modern architectural style and advanced green building technology.
This 385-hectare project features a one-of-a-kind circular ground plan that guides the eye to the spectacular landscape. The open layout allows sunlight to stream into the structure from dawn to dusk. The site features an 800-metre water-skiing lake, adjacent to the Clubhouse Pavilion, which is the centerpiece of the project, while the panoramic view of the lake is framed by hills. Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos' emphasis on open rooms and hallways provides 360° views of the surrounding topography, including forests and mountains, from nearly every location inside the Clubhouse.
A central sunken passageway divides the Clubhouse into two wings that frame an internal water feature. Each wing is equipped with numerous facilities dedicated to relaxation, socialization and well-being. The west wing provides access to the gym, outdoor jacuzzi, spa cabins and steam room, while the east wing allows groups to relax with a bar, kitchen, dining room, barbecue and a brazier. A swim lane and sundeck located on an extension of the pier also provide a serene experience that complements the outdoor landscape.
The terraces of the two circular crossing paths of the Clubhouse are clad in Kebony Character wood. Developed in Norway, Kebony's pioneering wood treatment technology involves heating sustainably sourced softwoods with furfuryl alcohol, a product of agricultural origin, thereby modifying the wood so that it acquires the same properties as tropical hardwoods, with a reduced carbon footprint. Kebony wood is economical and has a rich brown color, making its obvious choice for this state-of-the-art pavilion that is environmentally friendly and values sustainability.
Le Valle San Nicolas Clubhouse demonstrates a recognition of the growing demand for luxurious wellness experiences that are committed to sustainable construction and the protection of natural sites, such as the Mexican panorama that surrounds this place. Other touches complement the cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure, including volcanic stone and an American red oak roof.
For Nina Landbø, International Sales Director at Kebony : “The Valle San Nicolás development honors a strong commitment to sustainable construction, without compromising on aesthetics. The Kebony installation, with its natural tones, promises high durability and stability, while being low maintenance, making it the perfect choice for a waterfront pavilion deck. »
