The commitment to excellence towards a profession represented by the journey of a young person with the Compagnons and the transmission of acquired knowledge that follows throughout a career, resonates with a vision also anchored in the DNA of the Durieu Group.

This is why, on the occasion of 100 years of Durieu, the Group has chosen to support the completion of the Reception work, the “masterpiece” through which Killian Choloux, carpenter will demonstrate his professional abilities and the completion of his training, in order to become a Compagnon du Devoir.
This work of reception represents the realization of a trestle composed of two species of wood (Oak and Fresne).
A technical and aesthetic feat, this achievement will mark a key stage in his professional career. His workshop is based in a company located in Monts (37).
Focus: The Companions of Duty and the Tour de France

The Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France (AOCDTF) is an association under the 1901 law recognized as being of public utility, which brings together women and men in the trades mobilized around the same ideal: to enable each and each to fulfill themselves, in and through their profession, in a spirit of openness and sharing.
The Compagnons du Devoir and the Tour de France offer a work-study training course ranging from the CAP to the Executive Master and whose specialty is mobility in France and abroad, through the Tour de France.
Each year, more than 11.000 young people are trained in one of their four sectors: building and development, industrial technologies, flexible materials and taste trades.
Some basic lines in the formation of a companion:
- Transmission and sharing: Two essential notions.
The Companion makes it his duty to transmit not only his know-how, but also his interpersonal skills.
Compagnonage has always been associated with travel and the Tour de France. The journey is a necessary step in the construction of an individual. It allows you to question yourself and abandon your certainties, but also to learn a new language, a new culture and a new way of working. During his training, the future Companion must change city and therefore company approximately once or twice a year, for approximately five consecutive years, including one abroad.
At the time of becoming a Companion, after several years of Tour de France, professional knowledge is measured in the realization of a work of Reception (sometimes called "masterpiece"). During this stage, behavior in the face of difficulties counts as much as the technical value of the work.
Durieu is proud to support the training in carpentry of the Compagnons du Devoir and in particular, the realization of the work of Reception of Killian Choloux, future Compagnon carpenter.
