To celebrate its 100 years, the DURIEU Group has chosen to open its anniversary year by supporting the reception work of a future Compagnon du Devoir.
Since 1923, this family company has transmitted its commitment to the sustainability of materials. And each product range integrates: efficiency, technicality, performance and durability.
Since its origin, Durieu likes to get off the beaten track and find itself where you least expect it!
Through its businesses, its products, its commitments and its relations with its partners, the Group constantly maintains a line of conduct integrating ethics, quality, performance, listening and follow-up: nothing is left to chance and everything problem must find its solution!
The transmission of these values is a motto transmitted from generation to generation since the genesis of the company!
Stemming from these values and when we create products daily that aim to enhance the aesthetics and durability of a support, we are inevitably touched by the inspiration, the beauty, the creativity and the technique... It is therefore quite naturally that art, in its broad sense, and its support have a place of choice in the Durieu spirit and that the support of the Reception work of an Aspiring carpenter appeared obvious!
The little story of Durieu: Tracking back
Bornn 1923, the family company started with an import / export activity of automobile parts to grow over the decades, human encounters and many projects.
She quickly throws the penetrating oil TRANSYL® in 1933 with Paul Durieu, the son of the founder Georges Durieu, then rustproofing RUSTOL arrived on the French market in 1956.
At the end of the 70s, under the impetus of Alain Durieu, the group arrived as a pioneer on the wood market with the Owatrol® range and the first soft wood saturator TEXTROL® to be released on the French market in 1978. Then it was the turn of the exotic wood saturator DECKS OLJE D1 and the first aqueous phase saturator AQUATROL®.
From the 90s, the wood maintenance ranges continued to grow to offer a quality, highly targeted offer. In the 2000s, with the lead of Thibault Durieu, the current CEO, the company grew stronger and really took off internationally.
In 2008, the Group acquired the Owatrol®, De Keyn and Linitop brands.
In 2012, Durieu acquires a new production tool in the North of France and takes over the OXI brand.
From 2017, all the Group's products are distributed in more than 50 countries and in 2019, the robotization system (order picking) of the start-up EXOTEC is installed on the North site.
In 2018, Thermacote®, a unique solution for the insulation of facades and roofs, joined the Durieu Group.
From 2021, the development of bio-based products is accelerating and R&D is intensifying to find relevant and sustainable solutions.
Alongside its industrial activities, the Group has chosen to create partnerships with associations that make sense in terms of its DNA.
Thus Durieu has been planting trees with Eco tree since 2018 (4833 to date) and has supported Wings Of The Ocean since its creation in 2018 to clean up the coasts, coastlines and seabed.
Contributing to reforestation and supporting boats whose mission is to clean up the coasts are fully in line with the Group's vocation to protect woods and ensure the sustainability of wood supports and beyond.
