Zehnder ComfoVar Aero variable air flow regulator, to customize the air flow of each apartment in collective housing

In apartment buildings, each apartment must benefit from the best air quality for its occupants. However, depending on its size and lifestyle, each family does not have the same needs in terms of air renewal.

To provide customization of the air flow in each home, Zehnder, pioneer and number 1 in Europe in high-performance dual-flow ventilation, has developed Zehnder ComfoVar Aero, a new variable air flow regulator. It allows you to regulate, individually and according to needs (CO2 level, humidity level, etc.), the return air and the blown air from a dual-flow air handling unit such as the Zehnder Carma in the different apartments to guarantee maximum well-being for the inhabitants.

A compact and intelligent solution

Installed on the air distribution network of the dual-flow CMV system (ducts with diameters of 125 and 160 mm) passing through each apartment, Zehnder ComfoVar Aéro consists of a control module and two separate return air and supply air registers.

Thanks to its compact and flexible design, it can be mounted on the wall, in any type of closet, or in a false ceiling, both in renovation projects and new construction of residential buildings of 10 apartments. Intelligent, the variable air flow regulator adapts the air inlet and outlet according to real needs thanks to a flow sensor that takes into account the humidity level and the CO2 concentration rate recorded by the sensors installed in the rooms (up to 8 per home).

Fine and precise regulation

The precise and continuous flow control of Zehnder ComfoVar Aero is remarkable. The drop-shaped aerodynamic control element achieves optimum precision even at low flow rates and limits pressure losses. In addition, it prevents clogging.

Easy installation and cleaning

Zehnder ComfoVar Aero boxes can be assembled and disassembled very easily, in two simple steps and without any specific tools. This simplifies not only the installation but also its maintenance.

Two versions: Basic and Connect

In the Basic version, Zehnder ComfoVar Aero can be controlled individually for each apartment to regulate the intended air flow.

With the Connect version, all Zehnder ComfoVar Aero devices in the residential building can be interconnected via a Modbus cabling installation. This centralised access to the entire fleet, via a web portal, is a real advantage for the professional who carries out commissioning and maintenance.
