Zehnder Carma, the only dual-flow VMC manufactured in France which meets the requirements of collective and tertiary passive, with double PHI and Eurovent certification

This new range of double flow air handling units is the only range of double flow VMC manufactured in France to be PHI (Passiv Haus Institut) and Eurovent certified. It was born from the pooling of Zehnder's expertise in the field of exemplary buildings and the know-how of Caladair, a French company member of the group since 2021. It meets low energy needs and contributes to true indoor air quality in collective or tertiary buildings (collective housing, offices, schools, medical offices, EHPAD, etc.), passive or Minergie, both new and renovated. It stands out for its very high efficiency heat recovery of up to 86%, far exceeding the 75% required by the Passive Haus standard.

A wide range to meet all needs

The 7 models in the Zehnder Carma range are EUROVENT certified up to 8000m3/h. It stands out for its PHI certification on 6 of these models, from 430 m3/h to 4000m3/h in the collective and tertiary market segment.

Zehnder Carma is offered in 5 device versions with different climate comfort options configurable to adapt to the specific requirements of each project:

• SEASON: ventilation device without regulation;
• FIRST: ventilation device without integrated battery;
• SMART: ventilation device with integrated electric preheater;
• PREMIUM: ventilation device with integrated electric or water preheater;
• INFINITE: ventilation device with integrated electric preheater and integrated electric or water preheater.

Exceptional performance

The new Zehnder Carma range benefits from high performance thanks to:

• a static counter-current heat exchanger with aluminum plates which gives all the units in the range a high energy efficiency greater than 90% (EN 308), compliant with RE2020 and the ErP directive 2009/125/ EC. The challenge of obtaining the best possible efficiency with the lowest possible electrical consumption was therefore met (PHI: up to 86% for “Specific Fan Power” of 0.43W/m3/h);
• a modulating bypass with Free Cooling and Night Cooling functions with increased ventilation power and anti-freeze protection;
• self-regulating fans, equipped with EC motors and overheating protection guaranteeing economical and safe operation. (PHI: SFP: 0,43 W/m3/h);
• maximum tightness at the level of the filters and the box (measured and validated following Passivhaus and Eurovent protocols) L1 and F9 according to EN1886;
• high-quality filters guaranteeing optimal air quality (1% EPM80 – F9 filtration possibility);
• Quiet operation thanks to double-walled insulated panels with high-density thermal insulation (50 mm mineral wool).

Simple installation, configuration and use

Indoors or outdoors, Zehnder Carma air handling units are configured for vertical, horizontal and false ceiling mounting, depending on the model. They are equipped as standard with a protective roof. The control unit mounted on the control unit ensures simple implementation, configuration and use.

The ventilation device is pre-configured which allows for easy “Plug & Play” assembly. Finally, certain interfaces are installed as standard in the factory to facilitate the integration of devices into the technical building management system (Modbus, BACnet and Web).

Zehnder Everkit, 1st PHI certified dual flow C4 solution

A variant of the new Zehnder Carma range, Zehnder Everkit is the first PHI-certified C4 dual-flow ventilation solution manufactured in France, meeting fire regulations in residential premises and ERPs. It consists of a Zehnder Carma high-performance dual-flow unit, without exhaust fan, a C4 approved extraction box (resistant to fumes of 400°C for 30 minutes) in permanent operation and regulation modules which provide Controlled Mechanical Ventilation and the smoke extraction function of collective residential buildings.

Available in 3 sizes (1500, 3000 and 5000), this range which covers flow rates from 500 to 4200 m3/h, is distinguished by its complete PHI certification (up to 86%), its validation and certification by Efectis and its manufacturing 100% French.
