The XXa Acoustic Screed, a new acoustic complex for significant sound reduction

An innovative solution, LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique is an acoustic complex combining an acoustic underlay and a ready-to-use lightweight screed. Compatible with all types of floor coverings, this complex is designed to significantly improve sound insulation.

LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique is lightened thanks to expanded virgin polystyrene beads, with controlled granulometry, coated with an additive (diameter of 2 to 3 mm). Its composition also includes fibers and SBR rubber granules (from recycled tires), with controlled granulometry, associated with selected special binders.

This fiber screed thus offers optimal mechanical properties, ideal for the renovation of difficult or sensitive supports. Thanks to this composition, LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique makes it possible to lighten structures with a weight saving of up to 50% compared to traditional concrete.

Optimal sound insulation

Designed for indoor applications only, LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique combined with its underlay ensures complete separation of the screed from its support, walls and crossing elements. This allows a significant reduction in the transmission of impact noise. Thus, this acoustic complex effectively insulates and treats the different types of supports present in apartment buildings and individual houses. Thanks to its acoustic attenuation performance (20 dB for a thickness of 5 cm), LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique effectively absorbs impact noise such as heels, falling objects and moving furniture... It is an ideal solution for all new construction or renovation work.

Simpler implementation

LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique offers great ease of implementation, thus reducing installation times. This simplicity is due to the fact that this screed is perfectly pumpable over long distances and at great heights. Its foamy consistency allows for effective application for leveling, ensures perfect flatness, and makes it possible to lay tiles directly on the screed without the need for leveling. Its application method follows the rules of DTU 26.2.

The preparation of LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique in a concrete mixer, mixer or pump begins with the addition of 3,0 litres of water. This first mixing stage lasts approximately 3 minutes, allowing a homogeneous consistency and a grey tint to be obtained. Then, additional water, between 1,0 and 1,5 litres, is added depending on the specific needs of the site. The mixture is then mixed for a further 2 to 3 minutes to ensure perfect integration of the additional water, thus guaranteeing a homogeneous and ready-to-use consistency.

The quality of the mixture is very homogeneous and remains constant throughout the project. Once implemented, the screed is ready to receive directly glued tiles or another covering: 24 hours are enough to remove a ceramic covering, 36 hours for a flexible or textile floor on screed, and 48 hours for a floating parquet floor.
LA CHAPE XXa Acoustique is applied to a thickness of 5 cm, including beyond the elements embedded in the screed (ducts, pipes, etc.). For the applicator, this means additional time savings when pouring the screed, the assurance of a perfectly smooth and uniform finish for floors, and the possibility of multiple uses.

This innovative screed benefits from a CE Marking according to NF EN 13813: CT-C12-F3, thus ensuring its compliance with the quality and safety standards in force. Its reaction to fire is classified A2fl-s1, guaranteeing optimum safety. In addition, it displays a level of emission of volatile substances in the indoor air of class A+ "very low emissions", in accordance with the decree of 19/04/2011, which makes it a solution that respects the environment and the health of the occupants.
