Würth France’s areas of expertise
Mechanical and chemical doweling, wood assemblies, reinforcement sealing are all areas of expertise of the Engineering Center. For several years, it has established partnerships with various construction schools to contribute to the training of tomorrow's professionals.
Würth Training Days
The employees of the Engineering Center provide students with a comprehensive intervention using the technical expertise of Würth France. Each event includes an initial assessment, a theoretical intervention, a practical intervention and a final assessment. At the end, participants are awarded a certification via the “Open Badge” protocol. Several themes are available covering the different areas of expertise of the Engineering Center: theoretical doweling, practical theoretical doweling, introduction to screwed assemblies in wooden structures, calculation of screwed assemblies in wooden structure and carrying out a mechanical test.
Workshops, practical experience
Würth France supports partner schools in carrying out workshops. Whether initiated by the establishment or the company, these workshops aim to demonstrate the expertise of Würth France as well as to allow students to handle the sizing tools, consumables and power tools of the business. This provides much-needed hands-on experience for future construction professionals.
Open Badge certification, recognition of skills
The Open Badge certification system, born in 2010 and tested in France from 2017, serves to recognize an individual's skills. Because a person's value is not only represented by their university curriculum, the open badge allows them to promote knowledge, know-how, a particular commitment, or even a contribution to a project. Integrated into their CV, it offers students an opportunity to stand out in the job market.
The advantages of partnerships with Würth France
These partnerships provide numerous benefits for students, teachers, educational institutions and the company itself. Students benefit from highlighting non-standard skills, an increase in their visibility and the possibility of expanding their professional network. Teachers and educational establishments benefit from the deepening of skills, field experience and appropriate positioning in educational progression.
A constantly expanding commitment
Since its creation in 2016, the activity of the Würth France Engineering Center has grown significantly, reaching a peak in 2021. At the end of 2022, Würth France engineers met more than 1000 students, established 26 partnerships, organized 33 "Würth Training Days", carried out 23 workshops and contributed to 20 specific projects, while continuing their research and development activities.
