In a difficult context for the construction world, this demonstrates the usefulness of this unifying event, in line with the profound changes which are shaking up the market. The Mondial du Bâtiment is more than ever the place where all players in the sector can find all the solutions to respond to the problems they face every day.
A difficult context but committed and determined actors
The 2024 finance bill includes positive measures (extension of the PTZ until 2027, relaxed access conditions and increased income scales for access) and the general policy speech, held at the end of January, promises a “shock of 'offer' for housing. But the outlook for the world of building and construction in 2024 remains worrying.
The figures show a drop in construction starts of 16% and a drop of 12% in building permits (source FFB). On the recruitment side, reluctance is also in order. Only 12% of construction craftsmen plan to hire in the first half of 2024, compared to 19% in the second half of 2023 (source Capeb – Xerfi).
For Jean-Philippe Guillon, Director of Mondial du Bâtiment: “In this context of strong slowdown, an international event such as Mondial du Bâtiment intends to fully play its role to support players in the sector to change their perspective in order to explore new paths and discover new solutions to overcome these difficulties. And the mobilization of exhibitors suggests that they need this meeting, which has become unmissable, more than ever. »
The Mondial du Bâtiment thus invites all stakeholders to change their perspective through the exploration of 4 key themes:
- Adaptation: to evolve in a world that is constantly changing.
- Innovation: to improve the quality of buildings, make businesses more efficient.
- Territories: to respond to global challenges through local solutions.
- Women and men in construction: to pass on know-how, support skills development, help with retraining and give the younger generation a chance.
A dynamic 2024 edition
The 2022 edition showed this with the presence of 1720 exhibitors and more than 110.000 visitors: the Mondial du Bâtiment is an event that remains essential. The excellent participation figures 8 months before the opening of the 2024 edition do not deny this trend.
Organized by RX France, Afisb[1] and Unclima[2], the Mondial du Bâtiment and its three exhibitions BATIMAT, IDÉOBAIN and INTERCLIMA have already registered 982[3] exhibitors who were present to welcome visitors and provide precise answers to all their questions.
- The BATIMAT show, organized in Pavilions 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7, registers 706 exhibitors, 36% of which are new. 73% of the exhibition space has already been sold.
- The IDÉOBAIN show, organized in Pavilion 2, recorded the registration of 81 exhibitors, 42% of whom were new. 16 AFISB members are among the exhibitors. 78% of the exhibition space has already been sold.
- The INTERCLIMA show, organized in Pavilion 3, has 195 exhibitors, 38% of whom are newcomers. 29 UNICLIMA members are among the exhibitors. 78% of the exhibition space is sold.
This year, Equipbaie/Métalexpo joins BATIMAT
A flagship meeting for specialized professionals (manufacturers, installers, carpentry-closure installers, bay equipment and metalwork), Equipbaie/Metalexpo takes a step forward by integrating BATIMAT. The show already attracted 1/3 of the specialized industrial companies in France as well as nearly 20.000 independent installers and craftsmen. The new ambition, supported by all of the professional partner organizations of Equipbaie/Metalexpo, is to create the most important event in the carpentry and metalwork sector by joining the forces of the meeting with those of BATIMAT and thus expanding the visitor base to a much broader target of professionals including prescribers (engineers, architects, etc.).
Pavilions 4, 5 and 6 are dedicated to Équipbaie/Métalexpo. In total, 44.000 m2 cover 9 sectors: Carpentry, Closing, Verandas & Pergolas, Métalexpo, Hardware, Solar protection, Glass products, Home automation & control systems, Machines & tools. 90% of the exhibition space is sold and 271 exhibitors are registered.

RENODAYS by BATIMAT at the show and internationally
Building on the success of its first edition in 2023, RENODAYS takes its place within BATIMAT in the form of a space dedicated to the energy and efficient renovation of housing: RENODAYS by BATIMAT. An ambitious content program which is structured around several axes:
- Renotalks: conferences to explain and decipher the major issues of mass renovation,
- High-performance solutions: manufacturers offer, in workshop or masterclass format, high-performance solutions to solve construction site problems and priority renovation works,
- Understanding the regulations: 30 minutes to find the answers to questions about the evolution of regulations and financial tools,
- Put into practice: in partnership with the social and solidarity company Doremi, a technical platform allows visitors to manipulate and better understand the actions of global and efficient renovation,
- Renovation café: a place of conviviality and exchanges within the RENODAYS by BATIMAT space,
- Renodays Pods: participation formula to allow manufacturers and service companies to be present at the heart of this dedicated space.
The Mondial du Bâtiment trade shows have an international reputation and also attract foreign exhibitors and visitors. In order to make them even better aware of the event before its opening, the organizing teams are committing, from May and for four months, to a major tour, RENOVATION TOUR by BATIMAT, which will take them to several European countries as well as 'in Africa. The objective of these meetings is to understand local issues and initiatives, compared to France, on the subject of large-scale renovation of housing.
Specificities or points of convergence, this tour will be an opportunity to take stock with professional organizations, major contractors, prescribers and ministries.
Bring in professionals and offer them friendly spaces
Enabling as many people as possible to participate in the Mondial du Bâtiment shows is one of the organizers' major concerns. This is why everything is done so that visitors can go to the shows and find everything that makes up the spirit of an event such as this: exchange, conviviality, proximity.
Group train trips
The INTERCLIMA and BATIMAT exhibitions organize group trips by train from large provincial towns. Nearly 2.000 people will be able to benefit from this service.
Friendly spaces to meet
The moments of exchange and conviviality are one of the strengths of Mondial du Bâtiment. Many institutions, organizations, media, etc. take advantage of these 4 days to organize their events and meet their members. This edition is no exception to the rule and many meetings have already been scheduled in the two dedicated spaces.

An exemplary living room
The Mondial du Bâtiment will once again set an example in terms of decarbonization. This new edition is therefore placed under the sign of great sobriety and control of expenses. Exhibitors are encouraged to choose eco-designed stands, in line with the Mondial strategy. On the logistics side, optimized transport management for exhibitors as well as a specific assembly/disassembly schedule is planned. The Mondial du Bâtiment also encourages circularity, sorting and recycling of waste. This commitment is reflected even in the catering areas which are invited to work on the development of meals prepared on site, with local products. The use of plastics and PET is reduced as much as possible and waste from catering is recycled.
