All preconditions imposed for the approval of the transaction having been duly fulfilled, the acquisition of the company Terreal in France, Italy, Spain and the United States, as well as Creaton in Germany, has been concluded with success.
Terreal: a leading European supplier of roof renovation solutions
Wienerberger expects the acquisition to generate additional annual revenue of approximately 725 million euros. The combined sloped roof solutions business is expected to reach a total roofing area of approximately 75 million square meters per year. The transaction concerns 28 production sites; 3.000 Terreal employees will now join the Wienerberger team, whose passion and creativity will actively contribute to shaping the future of the construction sector. This milestone strengthens Wienerberger's position as a leading provider of innovative roofing solutions, photovoltaic solutions, as well as solutions for the entire building envelope in Europe and North America.
For Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG: “The renovation and rehabilitation of the European building stock are essential levers for moving towards climate neutrality and contribute significantly to the creation of sustainable and affordable housing. With the acquisition of Terreal, Wienerberger positions itself as a European expert in sloped roofs, able to integrate solar photovoltaic, rainwater and complementary solutions, including accessories and insulation materials, thus establishing a solid platform for future growth. »
Roofs of the future: from protective to multifunctional
As a European pitched roof expert, Wienerberger is now able to offer even more complete roofing solutions, which are primarily required for the renovation and refurbishment of European building stock. This is a major step towards climate neutrality which will be decisive for achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal, because old roofs represent around 30% of energy losses in buildings. Covers that are both protective and multifunctional are another contribution to climate neutrality and sustainable building construction. This development will be further strengthened by Wienerberger: innovative solutions for solar energy and water management help to reduce emissions and save valuable resources.
Thus, this acquisition is not only the key step in Wienerberger's growth and value creation strategy, but it is also an essential step by the company towards its ambitious sustainability goals. Furthermore, this step will contribute to building quality housing at controlled costs, while sustainably tackling the issue of global warming and its consequences.
