Wicona strengthens its fire safety offer with the new Wicstyle 75 FP EI30 door

Fire safety is an increasingly important point in calls for projects, public and private markets combined (ERP, health establishments, housing, tertiary, etc.). For this new school year, WICONA completes its door offer with the WICSTYLE 75 FP EI30: a 30-minute fire door in Hydro CIRCAL® recycled aluminum, ingeniously equipped to achieve these performances, without a fire-resistant insert. Designed for the new-build and renovation market, this door, developed as an extension of the range whose manufacturing customers already master, allows large dimensions and combines technical, aesthetic and environmental performance.

Technological engineering and ingenuity at the service of performance

The WICSTYLE 75 FP EI30 door from WICONA stands out for its ingenuity. In fact, the EI1-30 fire performance is obtained without resorting to the use of fire resistant inserts. The frame remains stable, fireproof for 30 minutes and maintains the temperature below 180° on the side opposite the fire. This performance is covered by the EFECTIS report EFR-19-V-005149 (French market). Only the use of a new generation of stainless steel clips associated with intumescent strips, all placed at strategic locations, allows the mechanical integrity, sealing and thermal insulation of the WICSTYLE 75 FP EI30 door to be preserved for 30 minutes. .

Concretely, the stainless steel clips are put in place without machining. They preserve the rigidity of the system and guarantee the maintenance of the glazing. The self-adhesive and optimized intumescent strips, concealed behind the flashing joints, expand under the rise in temperature and fill the spaces between the glazing and the bottom of the rebate. The bars with thermal break in recycled polyamide are essential in obtaining the fire performance of this door, the thermal break fully playing its role.

The fiberglass they contain contributes to the better mechanical resistance of the RPT profile against the rise in temperature. The outer bar (multi-chamber), under WICONA patent, provides increased resistance; one of the chambers being designed to receive the fixing screws of the various hardware elements.

Competitive and aesthetic solution

The strength of WICONA is to have designed its fire protection ranges as extensions of existing ranges, without modifying the manufacturing processes. Fire and flame retardant performance is achieved by simply adding accessories.

Developed from the door systems (WICSTYLE 65 and 75) proven and known to customers, the WICSTYLE 75 FP EI30 uses the solutions and equipment - hinges to be clamped in the rebate or hinges in the applique, joint covers, brackets, handles - with which they are used to working.

This homogeneity of solutions and equipment allows them to offer an economical solution, leaving great dimensional freedom (up to 3,480 m high) and also contributes to the optimization of stocks and production times.

A durability that does not come at the expense of aesthetics since the fire door, available in one leaf, offers the same design, resolutely contemporary, as that of the standard 65 and 75 models. It can also be equipped with hidden or visible hinges. And because fire protection is a field for specialists, specific fire training provided by WICONA experts is mandatory from the first order.

Sustainable and low carbon solution

All WICONA “fire” applications are offered in Hydro CIRCAL® recycled low-carbon aluminium. This secondary alloy is the only one on the market to consist of at least 75% post-consumer recycled materials, mainly from aluminum joinery from deconstruction sites. It thus has the lowest carbon footprint, ie 2.3 kg of CO² per kg of aluminum produced.
