Conducted in partnership with the research firm specializing in the individual home market, Caron Marketing, this new edition once again confirms the predominance of heat pumps – heat pumps, used in more than 1 in 2 homes, in France and in Ile-de-France. It is followed by gas for the Ile-de-France region and electricity associated with radiant panels on national territory. Focus on results.
When an individual launches a new home construction project, he is accompanied, throughout the project, by the builder he has chosen beforehand. This advises and guides him in particular on the choice of materials, the type of roof, but also on the type of heating energy best suited to his project.
It is this theme that Domexpo, in partnership with Caron Marketing, has chosen to analyze for its new Barometer dedicated to the most used heating energies in houses delivered in 2020.
107.000 permits were issued for the construction of a single-family home in 2020 (including nearly 5.000 in Île-de-France). Overall, the trends remain the same as last year in the breakdown of heating energy, with in particular:
- The heat pump – heat pump, which confirms its leadership: today it is the most popular heating equipment in France and Île-de-France, with respectively 59% and 67% of new single-family homes are equipped (vs. 49% and 56% last year).
- Gas, with a 17% market share, is falling in Île-de-France but still retains its second position, while electricity associated with radiant panels is becoming the outsider in France.
For Daniel Lair-Lachapelle, President of Domexpo: “The heat pump remains the most popular heating solution in new homes. It must be said that it has many advantages: it is easy to use and maintain (for example, it only requires a single electricity subscription and a single connection) but it is also more respectful of the environment and less expensive in immediate consumption. In Île-de-France, it is mainly the Air/Air heat pump which is favoured. In this region, the price of land in the overall budget is high: individuals therefore prefer inexpensive equipment. Let's also focus on gas, which is still an energy highly appreciated by individuals, but we note that its share is tending to decline, in France and in Île-de-France: the calculation engines of the RE2020 have for 2 years, favored the use of the heat pump, to the detriment of gas, in order to anticipate future regulations related to RE2020. We could therefore expect a further drop in the coming months, but everything can still change: the European Commission in Brussels has in fact just granted a "green" label to gas in particular... To be continued so that we can, at the future directing and advising Domexpo customers as well as possible…”
