VitrA sets a new ecological standard with its 100% recycled sink

VitrA creates the world's first 100% recycled ceramic sink, using/reusing waste, including discarded ceramics, from its manufacturing process. This innovative product, the result of the work of VitrA's factories in Bozüyük, Turkey, is designed to limit environmental impact, which demonstrates VitrA's commitment to sustainable development: reducing waste by preserving resources and maximizing the opportunities of the circular economy. Available in matt beige, this sink is the start of a collection which will offer other products and other colors, further reinforcing VitrA's desire to respect the environment and adopt virtuous practices.

The life cycle analysis (LCA)** of products, in compliance with ISO 14040:2006 and 14044:2006 standards, demonstrates that the use of scrap makes it possible to improve the global warming potential by almost 30%. . This sustainable production method made it possible to save around 5 kg of raw materials per product, an improvement of 36%, and to reduce electricity consumption by 2,48 kWh per product, a notable improvement of 38%. due to reduced resource dependence.

He explains: “These new basins are based on VitrA Hygiene technology to which are added our research and development efforts to incorporate recycled materials into the coating process. With a view to expanding our sustainable product portfolio, we are exploring new designs and applications, from packaging to branding with new icons, all made from 100% recycled materials, derived from our own production waste. »
