Building on a family business culture and shared values, Léon Grosse and the Vicat group rely on the complementarity of their expertise. Both from the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region with a strong involvement in the local industrial fabric, they are committed to a partnership that is based on 3 components:
- innovation:
- Respond together to specific and innovative projects,
- Develop joint R&D projects (specific low-carbon concretes, new industrialization processes, prefabrication, 3D printing, etc.);
- Environmental:
- Propose differentiating solutions co-constructed reducing the environmental impact in construction, and in particular on “low carbon”,
- Promote circular economy schemes in the territories,
- Evaluate the opportunities for implementing Léon Grosse photovoltaic solutions on certain Vicat sites;
- Societal:
- Building together a dynamic of territorial commitment developing local employment and short circuits.
- Contribute to the attractiveness of construction trades, especially for women, by developing training and promoting inclusion, with the support of the Louis Vicat Foundation.
This partnership materializes the collaboration of the Vicat group and Léon Grosse, which is already illustrated by joint projects launched in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region:
- An emblematic project in Lyon Confluence for which is used a low carbon concrete manufactured on site, made up of regional raw materials, in particular the cement “DECA” Naturat CEM IV containing natural pozzolans;
- The construction of a public establishment for a historical client of Léon Grosse, with ready-mixed “DECA” concrete supplied by Vicat and which will be the first low-carbon concrete building in Valence;
- The supply of ready-mixed concrete for the construction of a major extension of an industrial site in Crolles, a project led by Léon Grosse Immobilier.
The use of “DECA” concrete allows a reduction in the carbon impact of 25 to 30% compared to “conventional” concrete.
Guy Sidos, President of the Vicat group, specifies: “We are proud to be associated with the Léon Grosse company, a family organization such as ours which is committed to the regions and the environment. This partnership consolidates our long-term collaboration to build together the habitat of today and tomorrow. ”
Lionel Christolomme, Chairman of the Management Board of Léon Grosse specifies: “Our passion for technology has always driven us to innovate for our customers, especially in concrete materials and structures. This partnership between two companies that share the same values, the same regional roots and the same family business culture concretely reinforces our desire to act every day as a responsible builder to face environmental and societal challenges. ”
