Very disappointing results for MaPrimeRénov' in the first half of 2024 according to Anah figures

The National Housing Agency published its figures for the first half of 24 on July 1 and the findings are not glorious for the MaPrimeRénov' system over this first half of the year.

While Anah's figures have fallen, the results for the first half of 2024 are a clear break with the trend since 2020. In fact, only 1 billion euros of the budget has been granted out of the 4 billion planned for this year. This billion is currently divided into 556 million for single actions and 483 million for large-scale renovations. In addition, only 760 million euros in bonuses were paid over this first half of the year.

After a period of appropriation of the new provisions from January to March, the 2nd quarter of 2024 is marked by a gradual acceleration in the dynamics of large-scale renovations:

34.826 applications (+61% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2023) have been submitted since the start of the year.
20.463 cases were initiated.

Large-scale renovation projects are also more ambitious than in 2023, with greater aid for all households, regardless of their income. 75% of the files concern housing with an F or G energy label. The average cost of a work project is €54.671 and benefits from average aid of €37.080.

Let us also remember that the conditions for benefiting from renovation aid by gesture were relaxed on May 15, 2024, to allow households wishing to carry out a single gesture of work, to change their heating system or carry out insulation, to benefit from a flat-rate aid.

124.903 households have requested this assistance, by submitting a file, since the start of the year with increased momentum since May 15.
139.010 cases were initiated.

Thus, since 2020, MaPrimeRénov' has helped with the renovation of more than 2,3 million homes, including 268.143 large-scale renovations, generating a total of more than 32 billion euros of work.

These results, although encouraging, still need to be qualified in view of the objective of France's 2050 low carbon strategy, which involves renovating 500.000 homes per year to BCC level within 25 years.
