This exclusive color finish has an ultra-matte appearance and offers a velvety touch and a sophisticated appearance, transforming windows into real interior decoration elements. Two separate juries made it possible to award two different visual representations.
A professional jury was made up of two VEKA employees, two CREAD trainers, and a member of Club Chic and UNTEC respectively. After a deliberation on April 22, it was ultimately the work of Baptiste Philippon which was awarded an award on the basis of four rating criteria: the technical feasibility of the PVC joinery, the realism as well as the quality of the photo and rendering of the textures, the clarity of the student's explanation of the concept and the originality of the proposal.
For Baptiste Philippon: « The location chosen for this showcase of PVC joinery from the VEKA SPECTRAL range is the living room of a Parisian apartment, characterized by its artist's studio style. Inspired by the emblematic architecture of these workshops, I opted for the installation of a fixed chassis with dimensions L.240cm x ht.320cm. The PVC uprights were arranged to create a deliberate asymmetry, bringing visual dynamism to the space while drawing inspiration from the glass roofs. The use of the Umbra Ultramat shade adds a touch of elegance and sobriety to the whole. »
As for the public jury, they could select their favorite visual on social networks from March 21 to April 12. And ultimately it was Melissa Locatelli who received the most votes.
For Melissa Locatelli: « I created a green kitchen with a view of snow-capped mountains. It is a considered decision that aims to create visual harmony with the natural surroundings. I used wood to bring warmth inside as well as Dekton to highlight the unique quality of VEKA products. And to also bring freshness and vitality to the interior space. This aesthetic bias allows you to offer an immersive experience, while providing a sumptuous setting for the creation of your exceptional dishes. The competition resulted in the presentation of all the students' visual creations on the VEKA blog. (https://www.veka.fr/actualites/veka-spectral-sassocie-a-lecole-cread-pour-un-concours-de-design/)
VEKA's partnership with CREAD Lyon illustrates the company's involvement in inspiring future design professionals, while redefining the perception of PVC in the field of joinery.
For Emmanuel Desmesmay, General Director at VEKA: « This collaboration with CREAD Lyon offers us an exceptional opportunity to present to future design professionals the unique qualities of our VEKA SPECTRAL finish. It is also the opportunity to address 100% recyclability and the integration of up to 70% recycled PVC into VEKA PVC joinery systems.. We are convinced that this collaboration will not only promote all the advantages of PVC material in carpentry, but also inspire the next generation of interior designers to consider windows as elements bringing aesthetic added value to the place. »
For Anne Savey, director of CREAD Lyon: « This collaboration between VEKA and CREAD provides an opportunity for students to develop their skills, gain practical experience and get noticed by industry professionals. The VEKA SPECTRAL Lyon competition fits perfectly into this dynamic by allowing students to put their creativity and talent into practice. I am convinced that this partnership will be beneficial for everyone and will allow future interior designers to flourish in their careers. ».
It should be noted that at the end of 2023, VEKA also collaborated with CREAD Lyon students on initial reflections for its Equipbaie 2024 stand. Fourteen stand concepts were thus proposed by the students during a two-day workshop to initiate the participation of the company at the Batimat show.
