The eco-organization considers the establishment of this sector as a concrete response to the environmental emergency and offers a model to its members that goes beyond a simple regulatory obligation to be fulfilled. In a perspective resolutely turned towards the circular economy, the eco-organization calls on building stakeholders to join it in giving the sector the necessary ambitions it deserves. Arnaud Humbert-Droz, Executive Chairman of Valdelia develops for us the value proposition of the structure he leads.
See beyond a simple regulatory obligation
The AGEC law (anti-waste for a circular economy) has paved the way. The economic, social and ecological urgency makes it necessary to propose a model that is as close as possible to the issues and expectations of building players, with the constant commitment of the public authorities and marketers who will rally behind Valdelia. The eco-organization reaffirms its desire to bring its members together around a common project oriented towards the circular economy and allowing them to develop their activities beyond their simple regulatory obligations.
Arnaud Humbert-Droz specifies that “it is necessary to give and guarantee the REP PMCB sector the means it deserves. This is a lever for transformation, a real solution to respond to the environmental emergency. Marketers who will join us should not only see the argument of the lowest price (via the amount of the eco-contribution scale). They must understand that a fair scale creates value for them and that it is designed to control the costs of collection, reuse, recycling and recovery of PMCBs. For several months, we have been rolling out a strategy consistent with the ambitions of the sector. Valdelia's model thus makes it possible to bring marketers together around an agile, economically optimized and technically robust solution; and finally to offer them a model of a high environmental quality sector. I would go even further by adding that the success of this new sector is largely based on the motivation of marketers to really invest in the circular economy to serve the cause of sustainable development. Finally, it is important to remember that joining a collective sector remains a choice and an individual commitment that must be made in full awareness, because the eco-organization that marketers choose will support them in the years to come to sustainably include their activities in a circular economy approach. This is what we call for.
An operational start from 2023
The eco-contribution scale, carefully qualified by Valdelia teams, is the result of ten years of experience in the management of waste from end-of-life products, thanks to a proven service with the various stakeholders in the sector. . It also makes possible the operational deployment of the sector from January 1, 2023, without waiting for 2024, with a network of nearly 300 recovery points which will supplement the systems proposed by the communities (SPGD) initially; then with the assumption of 100% of the costs related to the collection of building waste directly on site from 2023, provided that this waste is sorted into 7 streams.
Arnaud Humbert-Droz adds: “Allowing marketers to comply with their regulatory obligations in a simple and rapid manner is of course a first level of expected service. Make sure to be able to start the sector in 2023 too. And last but not least, Valdelia's personalized support (in circular economy, eco-design, R&D, etc.) in the implementation of environmental projects for its members represents a third level of service that we wish to develop from now ".

A differentiating model
To support the start of the sector, the Government has announced a period of tolerance until April 30, 2023 for the compliance of small businesses concerned by EPR and an educational awareness-raising approach to this new obligation. In keeping with this measure and with a concern for fairness with all marketers, Valdelia offers a differentiating model based on:
- An invoicing of the eco-contribution to their customers from May 1, 2023.
- A minimum financial impact on their cash flow: no advance to be paid to the eco-organisation, the eco-contributions will be calculated and invoiced by Valdelia solely on the basis of their monthly marketing declarations once these have been invoiced to their customers.
- An eco-modulation based on their progress in Research & Development on the recyclability of their products, particularly when they already consume recycled materials.
In order to respond to manufacturers' questions, distributors Valdelia is launching a third national tour. This will aim to respond concretely to their questions and detail the offer of services of the eco-organization, in the cities of Nantes, Toulouse, Paris, Nancy and Lyon.
