The National Federation of Transport User Associations (Fnaut) on Tuesday suggested using revenues from the Société du Grand Paris (SGP) to finance public transport projects in Ile-de-France that remained "on a siding "for lack of funds.
"Only the Société du Grand Paris can spend without counting," lamented Marc Pélissier, president of Fnaut Ile-de-France, during a press conference.
The SGP has its own income and can borrow billions of euros to build the Grand Paris metro, while "many projects announced long ago remain on a siding", he regretted, warning against "a two-speed network".
Fnaut has thus identified several cases that are not moving forward for lack of money, such as the extensions of the T1, T7, T11 or T12 trams, metro line 11 to the east or improvements to the RER C.
As for the government stimulus plan, it above all makes it possible to avoid stopping the projects in progress, according to Fnaut.
"This is why we recommend pooling all or part of the revenues of the Société du Grand Paris, like what was decided in 2013 by the Ayrault government," noted Mr. Pélissier.
The government then hired SGP to open its portfolio to participate in other projects, such as the extension of the RER E to the west.
