The first product, URSA UPTEX, an insulation made from recycled textiles, is currently being rolled out in retail and DIY stores. It will be followed in November by URSA UPWOOD, made from wood fibers.
Products made of natural and recycled materials, combining high performance and specific technical characteristics, available in single-product or mixed order with glass mineral wool and/or extruded polystyrene references. A combo expected and acclaimed by the market.
For Adovi Adoté, Managing Director URSA France: "To reduce the energy consumption of buildings, we must act collectively, efficiently and sustainably. This has always been the driving force behind URSA. With UPTEX and UPWOOD, the first two products in our new bio-sourced range, it is this founding approach that guides us, in an ever-increasing unifying desire: the associated logistics solutions will allow all our customers and partners to test these new products on their scale and at their own pace, according to their orders, construction sites and storage constraints. Whether they need more or less glass mineral wool, extruded polystyrene and/or bio-sourced insulation, we are able to deliver the desired quantities, mixed in a single truck, even the smallest quantities."
URSA UPTEX
The circular economy is at the heart of the development of URSA UPTEX, made up of 85% recycled mattresses and textiles exclusively collected, assembled and manufactured in France.
Why mattresses? Because these bedding fundamentals, which represent 3,5 million units discarded each year, once used, must have a second life. If the sector has made significant developments, the challenge now concerns the recovery of textile mattress covers. With this new solution, URSA offers a second life to these materials.
As for textiles, they also constitute a significant volume of material to be recovered.
It is therefore from these two widely available, high-stakes materials that URSA has chosen to develop UPTEX.
Technical characteristics and added values of URSA UPTEX:
- High level of performance with a lambda of 37, ensuring summer and winter comfort;
- Ease and comfort of installation:
- URSA UPTEX is the first insulation made from textile materials that can be stored outdoors, a significant advantage for a large number of businesses, DIY stores and companies;
- Its main components, recycled cotton and polyester, give it softness to the touch, flexibility and ease of cutting and handling;
- Its high density, reaching 40kg/m3, gives it excellent mechanical strength, thus facilitating its installation;
- Multi-purpose insulation, URSA UPTEX is suitable for multiple applications: converted attics, unused attics, interior walls and partitions.
URSA UPWOOD
Made from softwood, URSA UPWOOD is a 91% bio-sourced insulation.
Like URSA UPTEX, it combines performance and installation comfort.
Technical characteristics and added values of URSA UPWOOD:
- High level of performance with a lambda of 36, ensuring comfort in both summer and winter;
- Implementation facilitated by excellent mechanical strength;
- Multi-purpose insulation, applicable in converted attics, unused attics, interior walls and partitions.
Tailor-made logistics services
Informed shortly before the summer of this strategic development, the points of sale and insulation professionals appreciated the logistics system announced by URSA to allow them to test these new solutions with complete flexibility: the possibility of mixing mineral glass wool – XPS – textile insulation – wood fibre insulation references, in their orders, and this from the smallest quantities, is similar to a quasi-customised service.
This will allow them to:
- To gain easier access to new markets, which not everyone might have gone to without this logistical flexibility;
- To reduce the pressure on their inventory management, and thus optimize their Cash Conversion Cycle or Operating Cycle, a fundamental lever in a tense economic context.
