Two years after its launch, has Ma Prime Rénov' made it possible to save energy?

As part of the France Relance plan, Homeys, the French start-up which puts AI at the service of the energy transition of buildings, analyzed the real efficiency of the works.

Until now, no one knew the effect of energy renovation work on housing on CO2 emissions! A start-up expert in energy data, Homeys has developed machine learning algorithms for the State, using data from smart meters (Linky and Gazpar) of individuals who have benefited from MaPrimeRénov'.

The main lessons from the analyzes

On the sample of work analyzed by Homeys, households have achieved an average of €793 / year in savings thanks to the work financed by MaPrimeRenov with an average reduction in CO2 emissions of 3 tonnes / year, i.e. 3 round trips Paris - New York by plane.

The average amount of work carried out by the households that took part in the study amounts to an average of 7.500 euros. The work is therefore profitable over a period of approximately 10 years.

The gains related to the installation of certain equipment such as heat pumps are significant and in some cases make it possible to reduce energy consumption by more than 50%.

Finally, last element, 30% of the projects financed by MaPrimeRénov' had no impact on energy consumption, due to a strong rebound effect.

For Henri de Noblens, co-founder of Homeys: “With all this data available, we will finally be able to measure the real effect of the works and concentrate the aid on those which allow the most to reduce CO2 emissions and improve the effectiveness of public policies against global warming. »

Founded in 2018, Homeys offers a SaaS platform capable of collecting and analyzing building energy data and then creating alerts if a threshold is exceeded.

The start-up, which already serves more than 100 professional customers in 2022, aims to serve more than 500 by the end of 2023 thanks to the launch of its Homeys Diag tool. This SaaS tool for energy professionals allows them to collect and analyze their customers' energy data to provide personalized advice.
